Jack instantly picks up on the tone of Aragorn's voice. His gaze flits over to Eowyn, only a brief glance, searching for a possible hint to the correct answer to give. It wouldn't be hard at all for him to lie, to spin out a plausible tale that explained the thread that connected them together. Lying, of course, was a particular specialty of his.

But so was bending the truth to whatever degree was needed, when it was appropriate.

"Aye, that's truth, sir, I do not hail from Rohan or Gondor. I met the Lady Eowyn in a land named Panem, where we initially crossed blades." Which was true, of course. The first time they'd met in the Capitol, they'd sparred. But the statement is vague enough that perhaps -- Jack was hopeful -- it'd satisfy Aragorn's suspicions.
